Detailed description is familiengeführtes Weingut am Rhein. Wie seit nunmehr 12 Generationen lebt und arbeitet unsere Familie inmitten des alten Ortskerns des ehemaligen Fischerdorfes Eich am Rhein. Bereits im 17. Jahrhundert haben unsere Vorfahren hier Trauben angebaut und zu Wein vinifiziert. Das um 1840 erbaute Gutshaus mit seinen Stallungsanlagen ist seither Sitz unseres Weinguts. Besonders unsere Probierstube, die mit ihrem sakral gebauten Kreuzgradgewölbe an einen mittelalterlichen Kirchengang erinnert, prägt den Geist unseres traditionsreichen Hauses.. Von Generation zu Generation gewachsen, liegen unsere Weinberge mittlerweile über sieben Gemeinden verteilt – entlang der südlichen Rheinterrasse bis tief hinein in das rheinhessische Hügelland. Das variierende Mikroklima sowie die unterschiedliche Beschaffenheit der Böden (in Fachkreisen auch Terroir genannt), erlauben es uns eine Vielzahl an unterschiedlichen Rebsorten anzupflanzen und sie ganz nach ihrem Potenzial als Wein auszubauen. Moderne und in Deutschland eher unkonventionelle Rebsorten wie Chardonnay und Shiraz finden bei uns die gleiche Aufmerksamkeit wie die für Rheinhessen klassischen Rebsorten, allem voran natürlich der Riesling. Besonders stolz sind wir auf unsere geschichtsträchtige Mittelalterrebsorte Malvasier, die leider in Deutschland inzwischen so gut wie ausgestorben ist.
