is a local hardware/lumberyard owned by Pete and Jon Vredenburgh.
Established in 1952.
Vredenburgh Lumber Co.
is a descendant of the Peter Vredenburgh Lumber Co.
of Springfield, Ilinois.
Larue K.
"Bud" Vredenburgh bought this yard in 1952, with partner Ogden Vredenburgh.
Bud was a "cousin" of the owning Vredenburgh's at the Springfield yard and knew he was never going to be in line to own that yard.
His decision to start his own company proved to be a smart move as the Springfield yard went out of business in the '80's.
Bud bought out Ogden in 1953 to become sole owner here..

Bud "rode off into the sunset" as he always used to say, on July 17, 1997.
He is buried in Oak Ridge Cemetary in Springfield.
We miss him..
