You will be paid on piece rate (per vine/ per linear metre) on a casual basis.
You will be informed of the rate each morning..
Each block you work is quoted to ensure that you shall be able to make minimum wage or above based on Wine Industry Award..

Our pay week is Monday to Sunday.

Your pay is processed the following Thursday and should be in your bank account no later than Friday morning..
You will receive an electronic payslip Thursday..

Does the work count towards my Second Year Visa?.
For every full day you work you will be given one day towards your second year visa.

We process visa forms every Friday, if you need to check how many days you have earned or want your form signed.
Please hand them in before 4:00pm Thursday.

What can I expect?.
Each evening between 3pm and 5pm you will be sent a sms with your team number and start time.

Every morning you will meet your team at our Margaret River office and then leave for your vineyard..
You will be working outside in all weather conditions..
Each day you are supervised by us to check you are working hard etc..

What will I need?.
Food and water as most vineyards are not near shops so you will not be able to buy lunch..
You will need full wet weather gear as you will be required to work in the rain (Hivis Jackets, Hivis Pants and Safety Gum boots).
We recommend you purchase from Southern Workware and Ammunition based in Margaret River..

Do I need to buy tools?.
You will need to hire tools from us as you will require a Vinepower vest and safety glasses and any tools that you will need to do the work (given to you on your first day).

These are hired out to you via our tool deposit system, some items are fully refundable, others are partial refundable.

Please note loppers and seccies that are needed for pruning cost $105 each if you are not prepared to stay for the whole season this can be quite costly as you will only receive $55 when they are returned, even if you only used them for one day..
However once the season is over tools must be returned, pruning tools are non refundable after Oct 30th 2015..

Do you provide Accommodation?.
No, but there are many backpacker hostels and caravan parks in the area..

How long will the work last?.
Pruning usually lasts for 3 months but after the season we do have ongoing work for workers wanting to stay for 6 months..

How many days will I be working?.
We do try to keep our workers working 5 days a week during the pruning season, However you are employed on a casual basis so some days you might not work.

Do I need a car?.
No, we do car sharing! $7 a day return fee will be taken from your pay and given to the car driver..

What if I have a car?.
Great, if you have spare seats in your car you will be paid extra $7 a day for each passenger you take to and from work.
Just pick up a car sharing form from our office and get each passenger to sign it each day.

Each Friday or the following Monday at latest you will drop in the form so we can process it..
If we do not receive the form on Monday we will be unable to process the form! .
So make sure you get it in..

If you are travelling with a friend we try to keep you on the same teams.
