Alfredo came to America in 1966, and in 1977 he opened a small produce market in Chicago. His nephews emigrated a few years later, and together they opened Valli Produce in 1989. Alfredo, Lou and Frank all have bittersweet memories of both the joys and difficulties of life in Valli, Italy. It was those experiences that shaped their appreciation of good food as well as their work ethic, leading to their success in business. Another chapter in Alfredo's business plan was in 2000, after mentoring his children how Valli Produce was built and how it was going to grown he opened the Hoffman Estates store and turned it over to his children, this was to follow with the opening of stores in Glendale Heights, Loves Park and Rockford.
