Coast Guard Station Eastport Is the most northeastern CG search and rescue station in the United States.
This station is home to the Response Boat Medium 45656 and the Response Boat Small 25695.
CG Station Eastport has an offshore coverage from Calais, Maine all the way down to Cutler, Maine and also responds into Canadian waters for Search and Rescue missions.
CG Station Eastport also operates maritime law enforcement missions ensuring safety on the water of the United States.
Station Eastport Is manned with a ready crew 24/7, 365 days a year.
It operates under the Department of Homeland Security during peacetime, and can be transferred to the Department of the Navy by the President at any time, or by Congress during time of war..

The history of Station Eastport:.
A Life Saving Service was established at Carrying Place Cove, approximately 1 mile west of West Quoddy in 1873.
In 1917 the West Quoddy Head Station was built to replace the Carrying Place Cove Station.
It consisted of a two-story building containing living quarters, four garages, a utility building and a boathouse.
In 1970 its assets included 12 crewmen, a 36-foot lifeboat, a 40ft utility boat and motorized fire fighting equipment.
The Station is credited with being a backup to the local Fire Department.
The Station occupied 5 acres of land near West Quoddy.
