Detailed description is The Upper Iowa Center in Alexandria, LA, opened in 2006, relocating from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
The center is located in the Learning Center for Raides Parish and is part of a consortium of 11 colleges and universities to provide for the educational goals and career development of the citizens of Central Louisiana.
The center offers seven majors and three minors on site.
Additionally, it can offer courses that when blended with our distance learning programs can lead to a degree in 12 other majors.
There are six eight-week terms offered each academic year.
All classes are offered at the LCRP in the evenings to minimize disruption to working adult learners.
Upper Iowa has articulation agreements with Baton Rouge, Bossier Parish, Delgado, Nunez, River Parishes and LSU-E to assist transfer students.
We have also partnered with the Fraternal Order of Police and the Louisiana State Troopers Association..
