The University of West Florida (UWF) Black Employees Association (BEA) is an association of faculty, support personnel, and administrative employees who work for improvement in the plight of Black employees at UWF.
BEA began in 1987, under the leadership of Dr.
Godfrey Franklin.
A few black faculty, administrators, and support personnel formed the organization to address various issues that affected Black and other employees at the University.
Membership is open to all employees who have an interest in promoting equal opportunity for employment and advancement at the University..
