Detailed description is In Spring 2008, The University of Mississippi and Holmes Community College announced a new partnership to bring junior, senior, and graduate–level University of Mississippi courses to the Holmes–Grenada Center. UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM DETAILS:. . The Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education program in Grenada is currently set up on Fall admissions only and it starts you in your Junior year with you beginning the program by taking the Professional UM Education Courses. It is necessary that you have your core curriculum already completed and having your General Education courses completed is also preferred. This is a cohort program divided into two phases for individuals who want to become teachers. The classes are taught in the evenings / night by UM faculty. UM-Grenada does NOT offer any first year or second year (freshman or sophomore) classes. To be admitted into the School of Education, Students must first have an initial overall GPA of a 2.5. After beginning the program, in order to advance to Phase II, Students must take Praxis I and obtain appropriate scores, as well as complete Core Curriculum of 41-42 hours and hold a GPA of 2.75.. . . The Bachelor of General Studies program . is a cross-disciplinary degree program offered to maximize opportunities for individuals to reach personal goals, meet job requirements, and advance their careers.. The degree was created in 2011 to meet the needs of undergraduates who wish to tailor their own degree program to meet their specific educational and career needs; non-traditional students whose work and family responsibilities constrain their ability to complete the requirements of other undergraduate degree programs offered by the University; and students who have accumulated many college credits, but discontinued their studies without completing a degree. .
