Current Study: Brain Network Connectivity in Adolescents.

What is the purpose of this study?.
To understand how the connections between different brain regions grow and develop in adolescents and factors that affect those connections..

What will occur during the study?.
There will be 3 visits to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and 4 follow-up phone calls over a 3-year period.
The study includes an MRI scan at 2 visits, a blood draw and urine drug screen at 3 visits, completion of various neuropsychological tests and personality questionnaires..

Who is eligible?.
Teens (aged 12-17) with a relative diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizoaffective or schizophreniform disorder..

Will I be paid for participating?.
Participants are paid $585 over the 3-year period as visits and follow-up phone calls are completed.
All participants traveling from out of town will be compensated for mileage.
Hotel accommodations will be provided for those traveling 6 or more hours round trip..
