Detailed description is The University of Hawaii at West Oahu Anthropology Club We strive to teach others while having fun about the field of Anthropology, which includes the subfields of: Cultural, Linguistic, Physical Anthropology/ Forensic Anthropology and Archaeology. Any UHWO student with an interest in Anthropology can join! . . In our club, we do club meetings to discuss future events, for example, field trips, tours, or anything Anthropology-related. Also, we are open to suggestions/opinions of what students or faculty wants to do in our club. Some of our field trips include: the Bishop Museum, the Medical Examiner's Office, UH Manoa, the zoo, and tours around JPAC-CIL at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, the Honouliuli Internment and POW Camp at Kunia, and other places of interest on Oahu. . . UHWO has offered two archaeological field schools. One at Waianae and the other at the Honouliuli Internment and POW Camp. The Waianae archaeological field school is taught by Dr. Ross Cordy (Hawaiian-Pacific Studies professor and Hawaiian/Pacific archaeologist). Waianae is full of Hawaiian artifacts and history. . . UHWO in the summer for three years (2010-2012) and now every two years since 2014 has offered an archaeological field school at the Honouliuli Internment and POW Camp. This field school is useful for people interested in archaeology and for future employment. You can find a lot of WWII artifacts including beer bottles, and metal pipes! . . These are fun experiences! Many previous field archaeology students return to volunteer the following year or go back there whenever possible. . . If you are curious, the link to the Facebook page of the Honouliuli Internment and POW Camp is found here.. .
