I was introduced to the prayer shawl ministry during the recovery of the community after the April tornadoes.
After much prayer and a hunger to be a part of such a ministry, I mentioned it to ladies at our church.
I discovered that I was not the only one wanting this to happen.
Another lady in our church had been doing this on her own, so together, we spoke to our pastor and he told us to "give it wings" and we did.
On August 30, 2011, we and five other ladies of our community came together for our first gathering.
Our desire is to be a community of people creating prayer shawls, knitting and crocheting as contemplative prayer, alone and in groups, and gifting the shawls as expressions of God's love to enfold the recipients.
