Detailed description is Black Affairs is the new signature department at UF presiding over the IBC and the NEW Black Enrichment Center (BEC). With the expansion of services to the Reitz Union, we are proud to announce a new department to the University of Florida! Under Multicultural and Diversity Affairs (MCDA), Black Affairs is the new department that oversees the Institute of Black Culture and the additional space at the Reitz that will be the Black Enrichment Center! . . The purpose of Black Affairs is to create, sustain, promote and affirm Black scholarship, culture, history, and leadership. The two spaces (IBC and BEC) will allow Black Affairs to fulfill this mission through our expanded programs and services for the UF community. Vee Byrd will now be the Director of Black Affairs and all ambassadors will be Ambassadors for Black Affairs under MCDA. Please bear with us as we transition and roll out new looks, services, and programs. We have been intensely working on this project to make it the best and premiere department on Black culture in the country, so stay tuned for all we have to offer!
