The goal of TMCC Project CHOICE is to provide health career educational opportunities to low-income students over the period of the grant in one of our target programs.

year Health Professions Opportunity Grant (HPOG) from the U.S.

Department of Health and Human Services – now in year four.

This grant program provides education and training to low-income .
individuals for occupations in the health care field that pay well .
and are expected to either experience labor shortages or be in .
high demand.

The goal for TMCC Project CHOICE is to provide health career .
educational opportunities to TANF and other low-income students .
in either one of our health field programs or our gateway program..

Project CHOICE will specifically target: .
•Nursing (LPN).
•Pharmacy Tech.
•Medical Lab Tech (including Phlebotomy).
•Health Information Technology.
•Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA).
•Gateway students (students that wish to take their general requirements at TMCC than transfer to another state college or university)..

•Tuition and books.
•A portion of mileage to campus paid.
•Childcare assistance.
•Assistance with FAFSA and Pell grant applications.
•Counseling/Advising.

Participation Eligibility:.
To be eligible for Project CHOICE, students must: .
•Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment at Turtle Mountain Community College.
•Currently receive aid from TANF or otherwise meet a low-income requirement.
•Pursue a health-related career program offered through TMCC.
•Exhibit a drive to succeed in a health-related field.
