Detailed description is CWA of NSW Tuggerah Lakes Branch was formed in 1947.
There has been a couple of name changes but in 2015 we became Tuggerah Lakes Branch again.
The Country Women’s Association of NSW (CWA) was formed in 1922 when country women were fighting isolation and a lack of health facilities.
Within the first year, the Association was a unified, resourceful group that was going from strength to strength.
The members worked tirelessly to set up baby health care centres, fund bush nurses, build and staff maternity wards, hospitals, schools, rest homes, seaside and mountain holiday cottages - and much more.
The women of the CWA have been initiators, fighters and lobbyists.
They have made localities into communities by providing social activities and educational, recreational and medical facilities.
We are a not-for-profit organisation that provides funding to State wide organisations e.g.
Royal Flying Doctors and local charities, South Lakes Women’s Shelter and Hornsby Women’s Shelter.
Proudly what motivated us then continues to be equally relevant today..

The CWA is the largest women's organisation in Australia and aims to improve conditions for women and children in our country, city, coastal, regional and rural areas.

Tuggerah Lakes branch was formed in 1947 but the branch divided into Long Jetty and The Entrance branches.
The Entrance branch closed and joined with Long Jetty to become Long Jetty/The Entrance.
In 2015 we returned to the original name of Tuggerah Lakes Branch..

Our branch meeting is held on the first Tuesday of the month at 1 Pacific Street, Long Jetty.
Craft is held the second and fourth Tuesday of every month and we have rehearsals on the third Tuesday of every month.
