We offered fun, free care for children with disabilities and their siblings while the parents have a night out for a time of rest and relaxation. We are Thru the Roof Free Respite and are located at the Cornerstone Church of God in Lebanon, OH. We offered fun, free care for children with disabilities (ages 6 months to 18 years of age) and their siblings (6 months to 13 years of age) while their parents have a night out for a time of rest and relaxation. We accept various types of disabilities and try hard to accommodate all needs. Our directors, John and Sarah Sergent, knows how it is to deal with the demands of everyday life when it comes to having a child with special needs so this is why they started this outreach. Also, Sarah, is a Special Education teacher so her background has further better prepared her to work with children with special needs. . We have trained volunteers who offer a variety of services such as being an one on one buddy for our special guest; medical staff, a security team, room supervisors, food prep workers, a registration team, etc.. On a typical night we offer pizza and juice. Some of our activity rooms consist of bounce houses, cars/trucks, mega blocks, coloring/drawing, arts and crafts, a salon to get nails done, video games, board and car games, a movie area and much more. . Also, the Sergents hold a monthly parent support group for families with Special needs. They meet the first Tuesday night of each month at Cornerstone from 7-8..
