This idea has been a dream of ours for quite sometime.
We finally have the knowledge and resources to start our beyond organic farm.
The philosophy of the farm is to advance our species in a way where we are no longer a destructive presence on this planet, but where we become present to the planet and the rest of existence in a way that is mutually enhancing.
The farm will be set up to use as little fossil fuel as possible.
Meaning most of our work is done by hand, not a machine.
We are practicing minimal to no tillage to enhance our soil productivity and to reduce our need for fuel.
In 3-5 years we will become certified bio-dynamic and incorporate animals on our farm for fertility.
Our main goal is to build a completely self sustaining farm where all our inputs will be coming from our own farm.
We will only be selling locally, hopefully only within a 25-45 mile radius of the farm.
We want to farm in a way that respects all forms of existence and recognizes the importance of living bioregionally.
To quote Thomas Berry, “Our challenge is to create a new language, even a new sense of what it is to be human.
