Detailed description is The Premo School, located in Historic Roswell, Ga, is a unique private school providing a natural, authentic, vibrant education for K-8th grade students. The Premo Way . . The Premo School is different from any other school. . . The Premo Schoolhouse is more of a home than a school. The Premo environment is composed of simple, organic, clutter-free, open spaces for learning. Both indoor and outdoor areas are crucial to the rich education and experience of the student. Rooms are filled with natural light, order and beauty. Every material is considered for its purpose, and every corner is ever-evolving to encourage children to delve deeper and deeper into their studies. Students and teachers tend to organic non-GMO gardens growing seasonal food. Teachers, along with the physical environment itself, aid to inspiration, collaboration, communication and exploration. . . Premo Students are given a great deal of autonomy and are encouraged to work how they work best. Students have the freedom to pick up their materials and go work outside if they like. Often students listen to music with their earbuds, take off their shoes, or walk around while working. Students usually work outside in the sunshine. Because of our 1:7 ratio, nothing gets missed and students are held to a very high standard. Although they work hard, they are given two 30 minute recess periods and a half hour lunch break. Even adults are shown to increase productivity when given breaks to unplug. Our motto is 'work hard, play hard'! Included in the day is also a 30 minute block allowing students to work on their own self-assigned/self-directed projects (these projects are based on their passions and include anything from photography, to cooking, to computer coding). The school respects children, providing them with authentic materials and tools. The responsibility of cleaning the schoolhouse is shared between teachers and students. Students learn by expert mentorship along with venturing to over 20 field trips per year supporting academics. . . The Premo School is focused on providing a rich education, creating a green and peaceful planet, inspiring children, teaching progressively in open spaces, and being agriculturally centered.
