When I set out with the idea of building a hi-end audio company people thought I was quite literally mad.
"how will you get funding for this? where will you make them? how can you compete with the large businesses? Are you nuts? To which I confidently replied.
"yes, Sirs, but in a good way...let me show you the light" The truth is, this has been an ambition of mine for 30 years from the time that I won the VISTA Scholarship in creative technology to Sevenoaks School in England.

My parents were proud of my achievements and I studied hard to learn electronic engineering, and audio electronics under the tutelage of Professor Paddy Rolleston, passing my AO level electronics at the age of 14.

Maths was always my achilles heel and I was more interested in making audio amplifiers than studying the complex formulae of Kirkoff's law and calculating voltage divider circuits.
I knew when something worked and sounded good and that was enough for me.

Later that year, I met the legend that was Jim Marshall OBE of Marshall Amplification.
The undoubted Father of Loud.
I recall being in awe of him as we sat in his office in Bletchley in Milton Keynes as he regaled me with the story of how he, Ken Bran and Dudley Craven made the seminal JTM 45, the amp that started rock music.
There it was in a glass case in his office - the roughly pressed metal chassis and Mullard valves with the beautiful cotton covered point-to-point wiring.
I remember thinking that was the coolest thing I had ever seen..

I have made amps over the years for friends and family but it wasn't until I was living in Brooklyn, New York that I realized that there was a sustainable family business that could be made into a reality.
25 years of working in the advertising business had taught me a host of other skills that I knew I could bring to bear.
With the lines of Rudyard Kipling's poem, "if" almost ringing in my ears, I realized that I could indeed fill the unforgiving minute with "sixty seconds' worth of distance run"....

Together with my fellow pirates of fortune we set sail on this quest in January 2016 and it fills me with enormous pride to announce that we are now in our first production run of the "Harry" - our entry level model available to order from our store and home delivery later in the fall.
