In the spring of 2012 we had planned to open a small store in a building downtown Fairbanks, filled with a myriad of locally hand crafted treasures as well as an art gallery to showcase and support local artists of all walks of life.
But financial and familial limitations altered our plans.
But not our course! .

As of 2015, the Oikos is proudly supported by Salvage Art(s) in Soldotna, Alaska.
A bead and art supply business started by the unconventional idealist behind the Oikos.
But we are also eagerly supported by many community members state-wide! With donations of clothing, bedding, housewares, foodstuffs, art supplies, teaching time, rides, and a myriad of other resources.

Huge opportunities are breaking loose for us and we are striving to take the next steps to uncover a way to establish an outpost/home-base in the Soldotna/Kenai area so we may continue to content ourselves with collecting and distributing all these things plus hugs, jokes, small dogs and the occasional shoulder to cry on over a larger radius.
This larger radius of service will also provide us the ability to expand our habit of providing temporary, emergency and transitional housing on an as needed basis, as space is available for whomever stumbles into our spaces.
