Ever since I was a young, food has played a major role in my family.
We used food to celebrate, grieve, support, and make others smile.
Growing up I experienced a mix of cultures which influenced my love of spices and flavors.
I watched two passionate parents meld their Middle Eastern and Mediterranean backgrounds into the most delectable dishes.
I learned the power of food when walking into my Grandmother’s home and smelling the stuffed peppers that had been cooking all day or my Nana’s house as she draped the thinly rolled phyllo dough on the counter gently awaiting the layers of butter, spinach and cheese.
All of my senses were ignited and since these moments, I have developed an innate interest in recreating and exposing my girls to the power of food.

Life presented a few barriers (as it always does) and I followed a corporate path focusing on raising my girls and supporting my family.
However, I always come home from those long days in the office craving a night in the kitchen, filling the house with scents and comfort and watching those I love light up when they see the rewards presented to them.

I experimented with baking as the girls were growing and birthday cakes became a focus.
I learned techniques, started molding fondant, asked questions, researched ideas and found another attraction.
My candy making morphed from ‘just trying something I saw on a cooking show on a rainy Saturday’ to mastering infusing liquors into the ganache and pairing the sweet with a variety of flavored sea salts.
