Detailed description is Your full service tackle shop! Russ Faught developed a passion for fishing as a young child and in 1984 he opened The Fisherman’s Friend. The Bait & Tackle shop has been running strong ever since. Russ enjoyed sharing his passion and knowledge with thousands of customers. It was his desire to promote and enable the local fisherman to enhance their fishing experience. It was with great passion he created his very own lure; the R-Lure, which is a hit and can be found here at The Fisherman's Friend. . . It is heavy on our hearts that Russ passed away on July 18, 2011, after a short battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed by many loving friends and the family that he loved dearly.. . Russ took comfort in knowing his son Michael would continue to keep his dream alive by keeping the shop open for business. Michael's mom always said " I gave birth to him with a fishing pole in his hand!" Russ said he put a rod in his son, Michael’s hand at the age of 2, and he’s been fishing ever since. You can find Michael & long time employee Rick in the shop 6 days a week full of knowledge, the current "hot spots", and well just full of it!! LoL ;).
