Detailed description is The CAVE is a free, non-denominational after school program for middle and high school youth that takes place on Fridays during the school year.
In 2006, church officials noticed several youth regularly congregating on church property, most likely because the grounds were located close to nearby middle and high schools and because the youth did not seem to have any better place to go.
It was decided that one community mission of the church would be to open the doors to these youth, many of whom were low-income or at-risk.
We sought not only to give them permission to be at the church, but also to provide them outlets for recreation that were free of negative influences that might be present if they were to go elsewhere and loiter without supervision..

At first, the church simply invited interested youth to hang out together.
Eventually, community grants and private donations enabled the church to enhance the variety of activities available and the tracking of attendance for student safety.

THE CAVE is not about spreading any particular religious faith or message.
We simply allow students to have safe, supervised fun.
We believe that providing a safe place for socializing helps youth to build stronger foundations for making positive choices.

We usually offer sports such as flag football, basketball, volleyball, and ultimate frisbee.

We have a short registration form where we take emergency contact and medical/allergy information for each child.
We ask that a parent/guardian sign the form in person so that we can confirm permission to attend THE CAVE.
Alternatively, we are happy to speak via phone with parents/guardians who cannot register in person.
