Access to Nat'l Forest, Wilderness Area, BLM lands A short drive up Gold Creek Campground Road (CR 771) will provide access to plenty of activities including hiking, 4-wheel drive forest roads, access to Fossil Ridge Wilderness, snow shoeing/cross country skiing in the winter. Dozens of abandoned gold mines and ghost towns dot the area of what was the Gold Brick Mining District. Gold Creek runs through our little valley and provides fishing access. Quartz Creek also provides plenty of nearby fishing access. Several lakes that are regularly stocked are within a short driving distance. Pitkin is 6 miles away. Areas beyond Pitkin provide numerous mountain pass roads and historic areas. Cities nearby are Gunnison 21 miles, Crested Butte 51 miles, Monarch Ski Resort 37 miles.. Please note a limit of 6 persons. No smoking or tobacco use on the property. No pets. Also note that County Road 771 is posted for no OHV/motorcycle traffic by the county.
