The Big Red Barn was hand built by local craftsmen around the late 1960's.
Its foundation consists of creosote-treated twelve-inch pilings, which continue upward to serve as the main structural frame for the barn.
It was originally built as a stable for horses, and included a small one-bedroom, one-bath residence inside the barn.
The second story of The Big Red Barn housed hay for the horses.
The original owner was a dedicated horseman in the truest sense of the word.
In the early 2000's, the barn was re purposed to focus on the new owner's 250-acre citrus grove business.
