'The Backlot' is designed as a "mixer" for local filmmakers, talent, and crew. The goal of 'The Backlot' is to connect persons skilled or interested in various film crafts so that they might be able to collaborate on future projects. . . Typical activities at 'The Backlot' include casting calls, presentations by working film professionals, and screenings of recently completed works and works-in-progress. . . 'The Backlot' is open to both groups and individuals, as we have several "breakout rooms" available for activities such as screenplay brainstorming and the like. . . Admission to 'The Backlot' is FREE, HOWEVER, a simple potluck dish or non-alcoholic beverage to share is strongly encouraged.. .
