The legendary 23 East Cabaret lived within the same walls, and hosted an impressive array of artists from The Dave Matthews Band, to The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Ramones, Blues Traveler, Hootie & The Blowfish, Phish, The Hooters, Joan Osborne and so many more. From 1996 to 2009, although the room became primarily a cover band venue, Brownies 23 East hosted national attractions such as Cheap Trick, Los Lobos, The Cherry Poppin Daddys, Merle Saunders, Vince Welnick, Melvin Seals, Steve Kimock, New Riders of The Purple Sage and more.. . The club is independently owned and booked. Chris Perella and Tom Linquist took over management in 2014 and bring an impressive track record from their time managing The Blockley between 2009 and 2013. They have teamed with Bryan Dilworth of Bonfire Entertainment, and Jesse Lundy/Rich Kardon of Point Entertainment (formerly of The Point here on the Main Line), to bring a robust lineup of live music ranging from rock, funk, jam, roots, adult contemporary, Americana and everything in between.
