Detailed description is We are the Allan's, a family of 5 from Newcastle NSW who are taking a year off to explore our beautiful country in our off road caravan. I'm Lyndall, my husband is Rhys, then there is Carter 8, Heath 6.5 and Chelsea 3.5. We hope you enjoy our journey. Around two years ago, I asked Rhys what he thought about chucking it all in and taking off on an adventure of a lifetime with our crazy kids around Australia. Both travellers at heart who met backpacking over seas 16 years ago, he didn't take much convincing. So we started looking at caravans, saving our money and making plans for our trip which seemed a long way away. The reality is, you need two years to get organised to just drive away and walk out the door, well that was our experience. We have rented our house, put everything in storage and have no plans on where we will go and when. All we know is that we are heading anti clockwise (chasing the sun and it's better for fuel with the tail wind) and we will see where the road take us.
