Detailed description is The Telluride Rotary Club (Rotary Club #1187) was chartered June 22, 1945, and has been meeting regularly ever since. . Our current routine is to have a speaker at a couple meetings a month of our one hour noon meetings on Wednesday at the New Sheridan Hotel. The buffet lunch is $12 per person, and we recommend getting there early, both for some nice social time, and because we really try to start and end our meetings on time for those who have to get back to work. . . We also typically have one evening meeting a month (also Wednesday, so the elders among us don't get confused) at which we concentrate our student programs. Some Members, even though they are big supporters of our student programs, get tired of hearing so much about them. They may skip these meetings. Other Members are just totally energized by the students and everything about them, and they make sure to come to these meetings. For those who just cannot get to lunch meetings, the evening meeting also works for them to keep good contact with their friendly fellow Rotarians. This evening meeting is typically the first meeting of the month, at Arroyo, at 5:30PM, with dinner and cash drinks, presentation and short meeting, done by 7:00PM.. . When any of us are short of cash, we make up for it by doing more. Some are better at throwing down cash, some at ideas, some at doing. It takes all of us to accomplish what we do. And we do a lot!. . Because we are more casual about meeting attendance than many Clubs, come when you can, enjoy what you can, and read the minutes that are sent out after meetings to keep up. Many of our fine Members are seasonally in Telluride, and we are always very happy to see them arrive, and sad to see them depart. They bring great energy to us, and are strong participants when they are in residence here.. .
