Detailed description is TIC broadcasts the reading of printed material over an extensive network of commercial and noncommercial radio, cable outlets and over the internet to those who are visually impaired or print handicapped TIC was born out of a passion and desire to bring the printed word to life for thousands of residents in Massachusetts that desperately needed access to information that otherwise was not available to them.. In 1977, Ed Perry of Duxbury, was granted an FCC license to operate WATD-FM. Ed had heard about reading services in other parts of the country. Knowing there were none available in New England, Ed promised to donate his SCA signal for use as a radio reading service. When WATD went on the air in 1977, Ron Bersani, a teacher at Marshfield High School volunteered to help out when things got started. Ron was the Executive Director of TIC for over 30 years. He retired this past year and appointed Jim Bunnell as the new Executive Director. .
