As a teenager I was a volunteer at the Humane Society, and started taking care of pets for friends and family. Years later, after getting married and having 3 kids, 3 dogs and 3 cats I still wanted to work with animals. After my youngest was born I began a career in Animal Care, started work at Connecticut K9 Education Center and volunteered my time rescuing many strays and even fostering them. Then I worked as an Office Manager in a veterinarian office for 11 years. My love and knowledge for pets have grown from there. I soon found myself wanting to be outdoors, but how can I be outdoors, make money and work with animals? Seemed impossible, right? I loved working with people and their pets, it felt good to share my knowledge but I wasn't happy spending 8 hours a day inside. It wasn't long before the clients were asking me for recommendations for all types of pet care and training tips. I soon realized that Tails 2 Trails can come alive and I can make a career out of what I love doing. I was lucky enough to take 6 months off from working and spend time exploring the local trails, meeting new friends, researching and spending time with my dogs. Boy, did we have fun! I have a very active 5 year old Doberman Pinscher Rommel, who travels well but I also have a hyper American Bulldog who doesn't. I found myself looking up Pet Sitters and realized that I wasn't the only one who wanted the best of both worlds. I wanted to go on vacation but not have to worry about kenneling my boys. That's where Brooke came in. She stayed with Moose while we were away. Brooke is a graduate of Farmington High School and has been caring for friends pets since she was a freshman in High School. Now, she is a part of the Tails 2 Trails team. I was so happy with the service that she provided that I wanted to do this myself but expand it to the public. . We have 3 Pet Care Specialists, all of who are trained by me. Besides pet care I alo offer Pet care advice, training services, behavior modification, nutrition advice, and much more.
