Detailed description is Taber's was founded in 1941 as a small vegetable stand on the shores of Lake Auburn. . Since then it has blossomed into a Restaurant, Miniature Golf, Driving Range, and Ice Cream stand that is a social mecca during the summer months in the city of Auburn. . . Many picnic tables, grassy areas, and beautiful views of the lake make Taber's a great place to spend an afternoon. . Every Monday and Wednesday in July and August is "Class Night", where local high school classes gather to socialize and see old friends. . . We also have a flashback Sock Hop the first saturday of August when we roll back prices and turn the parking lot into a dance floor to dance the night away to music from the 50's and 60's provided by Music Reflections. . . Our menu offers everything from burgers and hotdogs to homemade chicken, lobster, and tuna rolls. . The onion rings and pepperstrips are the highlight of the menu, both dipped in a homemade batter recipe that has been passed down from the Taber family. . On the healthy side, we offer chef salads, side salads, wheat bread, veggiewiches, and gardenburgers. .
