Detailed description is Launched in consultation with our partner- Samekit Jan Vikas Kendra in continuation of the Watershed Mgmt. project at Siadih (Matching Grant 63773), to encourage villagers to learn new farming techniques and methods of natural protection of plants. Our Objective :. . To provide the cultivators of the outlying areas of East & West Singhbhum, Seraikela and Kharswan modern methods of cultivation, namely modern methods of hoeing, nursery, transplantation, weeding, protection against pests and insects through natural means and modern irrigation.. . We have also installed a model drip irrigation system, a watershed model and Rainwater harvesting and recharge model.. . An area of 2.5 acres has been designated by S.J.V.K. to implement the above plan.. . We have planted fruit like banana and papaya, vegetables like pumpkin, brinjal, ‘kabuli chana’, sponge gourd, ridge gourd, bitter gourd, cucumber, Armenian cucumber (kakri) and spinach.. . There we have used the concept of multi cropping, and crop rotation. Later we will also demonstrate scientific paddy cultivation.. . We know that this initiative will go a long way in creating a change in the attitude of farmers. .
