Superior Meats is owned by Roberta and Richard Essex. We have had a retail business in Swift Current for over 21 years. We have owned and operated a large cow/calf operation for 50 years. It gives us a lot of experience when it comes to how your cattle, hogs or bison should be handled. It also lets us relate to the ups and downs of the cattle industry, as well as how everything does not always go as expected when dealing with animals and weather. We understand animals and appreciate how to humanly handle them. Superior Meats as a facility is both animal and user friendly. . . Superior Meats is a Provincially Inspected meat facility. We voluntarily hire Provincial Inspectors that check for humane handling, health of live animals as well as the inspection of each carcass to ensure that the meat passes all necessary criteria so that it can move into the food chain. The Inspectors check the entire plant and equipment as well as processing to ensure that we are dong everything possible to make sure your meat and our meat are safe.. . Superior Meats is all about quality products for you the customer. We buy all of our beef from a select group of local producers. Our pork is contracted from one producer. . Our products are:. Antibiotic Free. No added MSG. No added preservatives. No added color. We only buy AA and AAA fats and young cows. The pork that we buy is all market hogs. We need to use quality animals to ensure that we are giving you the consistent products you expect from Superior Meats. At our Deli at 906 Central Ave North in Swift Current everything that we sell is made from the animals we buy except for the cheese and chicken.. . Your animals will be treated with respect, yopur meat is Provincially Inspected and I guarantee that you will get all of your own meat back.
