Detailed description is Student Aircraft Builders is a group of students at the University of Illinois working on building a full-sized aircraft.
Student Aircraft Builders is an interdisciplinary undergraduate team at the University of Illinois that will construct and modify a general aviation kit aircraft.
Upon successful certification of the aircraft, we hope to proceed with FAA authorized avionics modifications using inspiration from our academic background in engineering.
Additionally, we have received interest in the use of our aircraft as a research platform for other projects on campus.
Potential research topics include structural analysis, experimental software for avionics, and even alternative propulsion systems; our research possibilities are only limited by our own imagination.
Lastly, we hope to not only personally improve aircraft technology, but also to inspire others to do the same.
