Detailed description is Stephen is author of acclaimed supernatural thrillers The Dead Path and The Broken Ones, and creator and writer of Australian crime series "Secrets & Lies".I was born and raised in Brisbane.
In primary school I wrote a cool story about a duck being eaten by a shark.
Then I didn't write much for a while, until Art College, where I started to enjoy filmmaking and screenplays.
I took a lot of odd jobs after graduating, including roadie for rock'n'roll shows, teaching photography, and fixing urinals.
I made some TV documentaries in late nineties and early '00s, won some nice short film competitions, and in the last few years returned to fiction.
My first novel, The Dead Path, involves a bird coming to misfortune.

My second novel, The Broken Ones, also involves birds – owls, in fact.
I think I'm a bit creeped by birds.
For the last seven years I've enjoyed a great creative relationship with beyondblue: the national depression initiative, developing content for teaching resilience in Australian secondary schools, which I have really enjoyed.
