John's UMC Youth Group meets every Sunday from 5-7 PM! Grades 6-12th are welcome to attend.
Come see what we are about! We are committed to our youth and to providing a strong Christian environment for learning, growth and fellowship.

Sunday School: 9:45 AM- 10:45 AM.
Middle School Students (grades 6th-8th) meet in room 201 of the Education building.
High School Students (grades 9-12th) meet in room 207 of the Education building.
Sunday School provides a time for students to meet with their own age group to share in a short lesson followed by discussion.
The classes are designed to help youth learn about Christ and grow in faith.

UMYF: Sunday night from 5-7 PM in the Gym.
UMYF stands for United Methodist Youth Fellowship.
We welcome grades 6-12th each Sunday evening in the Gym for dinner, fellowship, games, and a lesson.
Our lessons might include hands on activities, a movie clip, attending Celebration!Service, media, or diving into scripture.
Each week is different! Our goal is to strengthen friendships and our relationship with Christ and HAVE FUN! .

Confirmation: Grades 6th and 7th participate each Spring.
Our Confirmation class runs from January to May each spring and is open to any 6th or 7th grader who desires to know more about Christianity and our Methodist beliefs.
Each confirmand is paired with an adult mentor from the church and together they work through our confirmation journal.
As a class we experience a variety of worship services, join in mission, and have a Saturday Retreat.

Trips: Conference Events and Summer Trips.

John’s Youth is involved in both the District and Conference United Methodist Youth Ministries.
Throughout the year we join together with youth from all over Louisiana for retreats and mission work at the Conference Center and in Baton Rouge.

Each summer the youth plan a week long trip, alternating mission and spiritually based programs.
We have frequently participated in Appalachian Service Project, self-planned mission trips, and BigStuf Camps.
These trips will change your life.
From serving others, to refilling yourself with God’s love- you will never be the same!.

John’s Youth are constantly involved in a variety of mission projects across Baton Rouge.
This year we have worked with Habitat for Humanity, the Baton Rouge Food Bank, and Hope Ministries.
We have also led clean up projects at Camp Istrouma, the LSU Wesley Foundation, and in our church neighborhood.
These projects are scheduled throughout the year so we are frequently in mission.
