The Russian Byzantine Catholic Church was founded in 1896 by Russian Orthodox priests seeking to restore communion with the Catholic Church while maintaining the spiritual richness of the Byzantine Slavonic tradition.
We are in fact one of over 20 autonomous Catholic Churches in full communion with the Holy See.
