Detailed description is SAM is a regional museum promoting contemporary visual arts by inspiring and engaging people of all ages through exhibitions and education. SAM has three major programs:. . The Exhibitions Program provides exhibits of national, regional, and local art.. Colors Outreach Program gives under-served youth ages 6–18, the opportunity to experience high-quality art instruction in a safe environment during after-school hours. . The Art School is a non-accredited, community oriented, educational program that offers low cost classes for children and adults.. . Your membership will help support art school classes, workshops & camps for children & adults, exhibitions by local, regional and national artists, an art lecture series, docent tours for students & adults, outreach art programs for at-risk youth, a growing permanent collection of artwork for the community.. . As a non-profit organization, the museum relies not only on financial contributions from the private sector, but also upon its volunteerism.
