Founded in 1974, the Southern University Law Review is a student-published scholarly journal that addresses current legal issues through articles submitted by Southern University law students, and legal scholars and professionals. The Law Review is dedicated to providing judges, lawyers, and law students with effective research materials. Additionally, the Law Review provides its members with the opportunity to develop their own legal writing, editing, and research skills. The Law Review is published twice a year and has a widely circulated subscription list, including availability online through the WESTLAW and LexisNexis databases.. . The Law Review is always striving to reach new heights of excellence within the legal community, both on a state and national level. To ensure the continuance of an exceptional journal of the highest quality, the Law Review’s Executive Board attends the National Conference of Law Reviews each spring. The Conference serves as a forum for member publications to exchange ideas on issues common to student-edited law journals.. . We welcome all submissions and do not limit the Law Review to any particular area of law. Citations in the Law Review generally conform to the 19th Edition of The Bluebook and the 16th Edition of the Chicago Manual of Style.
