Detailed description is SMC's School of Ultrasound has been training sonographers since 1991.
We provide classroom and clinical training in all areas of Echocardiography and Peripheral Vascular Technology.
Our program is designed to be completed with one year.
Enrollement is limited, however, classes begin in January and July of each year.
The Louisiana Board of Regents licenses this proprietary program.
Students are exposed to two dimensional concepts, M-mode echocardiography, color Doppler, pulsed wave Doppler, continuous wave Doppler and associated hemodynamics.
Also included are vascular structures, cerebrovascular imaging, and venous testing.
When taken in conjunction with our course on physical principles of ultrasound, students experience a high degree of success at registry examinations.
