Detailed description is SRU Guitar Club is an organization that currently meets every Tuesday at Common Hour. We strive to help individuals both learn how to play and perform. The Slippery Rock University Guitar Club is a club/organization that meets every Tuesday at 6:30pm in Swope Music Hall rm:135. We strive to help those who wish to learn guitar and have a great time doing so! We pair said individuals with members who have been playing for years. Some events we take part in include open mic nights at various locations and benefit concerts. Come drop by for a great experience!. . Our current members include:. Warren Geither (President). Marshall Tuten (Vice President). Chris Pagley (Secretary). Parker Servello (Treasure). Melinda Hood. Justin Groff. Rebecca Himes. . . As stated above, we were involved with multiple events. On October 20th, 2016, we were invited to perform along side other clubs in the SRU Music Therapy Benefit Concert. It was there we performed "Time of Your Life (Good Riddance) " by Green Day, and an arrangement of "Can't Help Falling in Love" by the late Elvis Presley.. . From there, we continued to perform at local open mic nights. Some of us, ventured further. The club last performed on November 10th, 2016, at the SRU Starbucks open mic night. It was there, we had individuals perform not only covers, but original works of art. Those who performed originals included Ashley DeWitt and Melinda Hood.. . On November 14th, 2016, Three of our members traveled to Community College of Allegheny County out in the North Hills to attend an open mic night hosted by Greg Joseph of The Clarks, a Pittsburgh folk band. There, Ashley DeWitt and Justin Groff performed two original pieces that the crowd enjoyed..
