Detailed description is We have a large selection of antiques, collectibles & gift items.
Antiques, primitives, collectibles, home decor items, gently used trendy clothing & new accessories.
Just to give you a little background on why we call the store Singing Grass Trading Company.
As some of you may or may not know, the town Kit Carson, Colorado is named after the famous Indian scout Christopher "Kit Carson".
We wanted a somewhat historical name for our store, but wanted it to be a little more original since the name Kit Carson is widely used in the area.
After reading & researching we learned that Kit had 3 wives.
His first wife was an Arapaho Indian woman called Waa-nibe, which translated to English is "Singing Grass".
There are no actual photos of Waa-nibe, but we were fortunate enough to be granted permission from the New Mexico State University Library, Archives & Special Collections, to use this artist's rendition of her.
