Detailed description is Handmade Crochet & Knitwear. >>Scarves, Beanies, Headbands, Earwarmers, Cowls, Blankets & More... Hi, I'm Darla. I am a 19 year-old with big dreams and a love for unique and handmade items. For about 8 years now I have been sick with a chronic illness. The first three years I could still attend a regular school and even cheer. But during the summer before freshmen year I got really sick. I had to switch schools and do a program called home/hospital. It was so different from the "normal" I was used to. I went from being able to cheer and work out to being practically bed ridden. I was in so much pain and it was hard to leave the house. So my freshman year was a year of getting acquainted to my new life. Then sophomore year came around and I was bored out of my mind. I don't like to sit around doing nothing, so about three years ago a sweet woman taught me the basics of crochet, and from there on I have taught myself how to knit, how to read patterns(which is pretty much a foreign language if you don't know how :P) and even created some of my own! Crocheting has given me something to do and accomplish when my body and mind couldn't handle anything else. So now that I'm out of High School yet still sick and undergoing treatment (hopefully in the end stages, fingers crossed) I can't attend college or get a job, so I've decided why not create one and why not be something I'm good at and enjoy doing. So, being from a long line of go-getters it just came natural to me to start an Etsy! My cousin Jenna, of Mon Voir Calligraphy did so well on Etsy, I decided might as well start there.
