Detailed description is This is a space that has been constructed by Sikh youth to allow for future youth involvement in the Sikh Society of SA. Through various religious, cultural and social activites, members are able to become actively involved in the Sikh community here in Adelaide. These activities not only promote community involvement, but will encourage youth to uphold Sikh values and beliefs and also initiate friendship and networking. . . Why get involved? . Because we are the future of this community. Because it is important to embrace and explore our identity and be proud of who we are. Because we are all connected with a common bond. . . Everyone is encouraged to contribute any ideas and opinions they have. . . The type of activities we would like to undertake are:. cultural - vaisakhi night, diwali night, punjabi night. social events, outdoor activities. fundraising events. sports day. religious involvement - kirtan, langar seva, forums etc. . The aim is to get the ball rolling, so we will start small with few events and activities. Then, with time and effort, we will be able to expand the youth involvement in our community as more youth come and eventually accomodate larger events such as smelans. . . Youth involvement is ongoing, so the first step is coming to Gurdwara. We are role models for the younger generations so it is up to us to uphold the Sikh values and Punjabi culture which our parents and previous generations taught us.
