Detailed description is Sierra Recon is a multi-distance obstacle race.

This spectator-friendly obstacle course (everybody loves carnage) is set at the beautiful Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort and starts at an elevation of over 6500 feet.
The creative and burly obstacles are built by our sadistic crew of licensed contractors and will test your strength, stamina, and fortitude.
(We've got a pint-sized version for the kids too!).

Elevation: 6640ft -- plan on climbing over 3000ft during the race.
Teams: Solo, 2 person, 4 person, 6+ person .

THIS IS A RACE AGAINST THE ELEMENTS - MAN-MADE AND NATURAL- AND YOU WILL BATTLE THEM BOTH.
WITH TWO FEATURES EVERY MILE THERE IS NO TIME TO FIND YOUR GROOVE.
JUST BEAR DOWN, DIG DEEP, SUCK IT UP AND KICK ASS! .

You'll always remember your first time...(aka Green Circle).
For you first time racers or those that just haven't had enough time to get out and train--this level is for you.
4ish miles with 8-10 obstacles and only about 1000 ft of elevation gain.
It will still be challenging, muddy and a bit of gnar but you'll be back at the Tiki Bar drinking before you can say "I'm ready to sign up for next year!".

Blue squares are OK...blue balls not so much..
This is the category to choose if you're active and enjoy a challenge but aren't 100% committed to serious elevation gain, mileage and the most gnarly obstacles.
Don't worry, this course will still kick ass - with 6ish miles, 12-15 obstacles and about 1500ft of elevation gain.
This is not an easy way out - just not ridiculously stuid like the Black Diamonds..

Once you go black...(we mean Black Diamond).
If you're super-fit or plain just masochistic this is where you want to be.
8+ miles, over 3000ft of elevation gain, and 20+ obstacles which include the gnarliest, most painful, stuid-crazy obstacles on the mountain.
If you got wide-eyed and butterflied at that description then this is the right course for you! If you shat yourself...maybe think about the blue square..
