Detailed description is The Shortgrass Arts & Humanities Council was created to bring the world of artistic expression to people of all ages in Southwestern Oklahoma by fostering a greater awareness, appreciation, and knowledge of the arts and humanities. The Shortgrass Arts & Humanities Council (SAHC) is made up of a number of committees that coordinate special events and support council business. . . Each year, SAHC hosts major events, which are open to the public. SAHC hosts the Chautauqua "living history" tent performances every three years. The Festival of Trees comes during the Christmas season, and is used to raise funds for SAHC programs. Some of those programs include scholarships for students and teachers, and workshops for children.. . In addition to these regularly scheduled events, the Shortgrass Arts & Humanities Council is instrumental in bringing the performing arts, classical music, and southwestern cultural programs to the area. . . If you are a patron or practitioner of the arts, and would like to become involved in the cultural evolution of Southwest Oklahoma, Shortgrass Arts & Humanities Council needs your help.
