シュートボクシングは、元・日本キックボクシング・ウェルター級チャンピオン、シーザー武志によって創設された、パンチ・キック・投げ技・そして立関節技を認めた立技総合格闘技です。プロ公式戦の試合形式は、体重別に階級を分け、１ラウンドを３分間とした３また５ラウンド制によって行います。ボクシング同様、手には各階級毎に６～１０オンスのグローブを着用し、勝敗は、打撃技や投技による“KO”もしくは立関節技による“ギブアップ”、または、打撃の「ヒットポイント」、投げによる「シュートポイント」、立関節技による「キャッチポイント」の採点し判定します。判定はドロー決着を排除し、勝敗が着くまで延長戦を行なう完全決着ルールを採用しています。 .

Shootboxing was founded by the former Japan kickboxing welterweight champion Caesar Takeshi, and is an all-round standing martial art that allows punches, kicks, throws as well as standing joint locks.Official professional matches are divided into different weight-classes., matches being either 3 or 5 rounds each and each round being 3 minutes long.Like boxing, gloves ranging from 6 to 10 ounces are used depending on the weight-class, and winning is decided by either a KO from hits or throws, a give-up from a standing joint lock, or by points, a successful hit earning a hit point, a throw earning a shoot point, and a lock earning a catch point.
The rules state that matches ending in a draw are not accepted, and rounds are extended until a winner is decided..
