Each role is carefully assigned to mirror each child's potential.
Regardless if a child has or has not been in a STARS production in the past, they will be considered for all roles.
Many younger kinds do not get the opportunity to perform large roles in productions, which most can handle with practice and dedication.
Thus, STARS mission became to provide that unmet need to the community.

When Shayna, the founder and director, created the camp in 2003, her intention was to give children the experience of singing on stage and to have more than a few lines in a musical.
Over the years we have found that although children experience the thrill of performance, their self-confidence blossoms with each production.
For many children, STARS is their first musical theater experience, and subsequently, they begin the experience shy and hesitant.
However, after the session, every child has grown, and for those who could barely project a sentence during auditions, perform with confidence in front of a live audience.
