Detailed description is Shades of Chic offers fun, fresh furniture and home decor. We also offer custom painted kitchen cabinets. Shades of Chic was officially born at my kitchen table in 2012. But truth be told, it was born in my heart a long time before that. When I was a little girl, my mother cleared out a hall closet in our tiny suburban apartment and created for me my very own art studio. Filled with all things art: crayons, glue, yarn, scissors, and my favorite...a Holly Hobby light box. Oh, how I loved that closet! During that same time, my dad was a construction worker and I enjoyed tagging along to his various jobs and learning all things construction. I especially loved watching him paint. He taught me the importance of a good brush and how to cut in properly. And so, my love of painting was born.. . Eventually, I moved on from light boxes and on to computers, where I designed logos and brochures. I was a freelanc designer for 15 years but got tired of staring at a flat screen and yearned to work on something of a much larger scale. The minute I saw a picture of a beautifully painted dresser I knew I had to try my own hand at it. And then it happened...like spontaneous combustion. My love of art and paint had finally come together and I was hooked! It started out as a hobby but quickly grew into a full-time business. . . Shades of Chic now offers all kinds of paint-related products and services. I sell beautifully finished and unique pieces of furniture. But I will also paint that hutch you've had sitting in your garage for the last three years. Shades of Chic is also a proud retailer of Wise Owl Chalk Synthesis Paint. You will find Shades of Chic at the Lebanon Peddlers Mall or pop-up boutiques throughout the city, such as Ruffles and Rust, Springfield Extravaganza or Market in the Park. . .
