Ce sentier, fruit de la collaboration entre Forêt Québec, la Société d'Exploitation Sylvicole du Témiscamingue et le propriétaire du lieu, monsieur Denis Carrier, a été aménagé pour souligner l'Année internationale de la forêt en 2011. Il débute en face de la halte routière de Notre-Dame-du-Nord, d'où l'on aura un point vue sur le lac Témiscamingue, et mène jusqu'au rivage. Deux passerelles agrémentent le parcours. Une vingtaine de panneaux d'interprétation traitent de la géologie, de la faune et la flore, ainsi que de l'histoire de l'occupation des lieux et de l'héritage des pionniers dans la région. En plus des nombreux types de plantes, on observera des fragments d'un ancien météorite venu de "L'Eau-de-là" et des fossiles datant de 400 millions d'année.
